An Outside Sales Associate tasked with selling t-shirts to retail
shops and wholesale shops plays a critical role in driving product
distribution and increasing brand visibility. Their job is to reach
out and engage with tshirt ( apparel / clothing) store owners,
manage orders, and help grow the t-shirt brand's presence in both
retail and wholesale markets. Below is an outline of the key
responsibilities, skills, and qualities required for this role:
Key Responsibilities of a Sales Associate for Selling T-shirts to
Retail and Wholesale Shops
1. Sales Outreach & Lead Generation
Target Retail & Wholesale Accounts: Identify and approach potential
retail stores (boutiques, chain stores, etc.) and wholesale buyers
who may be interested in carrying your t-shirts.
Cold Calling & Emails: Reach out to prospective shops to introduce
the t-shirt brand, share product catalogs, and offer sample
t-shirts for review.
Networking: Attend trade shows, fashion events, or industry
networking meetups to meet retail and wholesale buyers and
introduce them to the brand.
2. Product Presentation & Demonstrations
Product Knowledge: Have an in-depth understanding of the t-shirt
product line, including fabric types, sizing, color options, and
printing techniques. Be able to effectively communicate the
benefits and uniqueness of the product.
Present Product Catalogs: Provide retail and wholesale buyers with
physical or digital product catalogs, showcasing different designs,
color options, and product specifications.
In-Person Demos: When possible, conduct in-person meetings with
retail or wholesale buyers to present the t-shirts, provide
samples, and discuss ordering details.
3. Order Management & Processing
Order Taking: Take orders from retail and wholesale clients,
ensuring all details are accurate, including quantities, sizes,
colors, and shipping preferences.
Price Negotiation: For wholesale orders, negotiate prices and
terms, ensuring they are competitive and beneficial for both the
company and the shop.
Follow-Up on Orders: Ensure that orders are processed correctly,
track shipments, and follow up with clients to confirm receipt and
satisfaction.
